God is in the Detail was Out of my Hair's 2nd album and their last for label RCA. After a tempestuous recording session at El Corijo studios in Span with producer Chris Kimsey and engineer Chris Potter, the band decamped to LA to mix the album with the legend that is Bob Clearmountain. Both innovative and original in textures and sounds, ahead of its time in 1997, RCA refused to release the album and subsequently dropped the band from the label. After fighting with various companies for ownership and the right to release, only now has God is in the Detail become available to an audience.
